There aren’t many options for all-electric commercial vans on the market but fortunately, there is one based on the best-selling Ford Transit. The innovative all-electric Ford E-Transit offers similar horsepower but a bit more torque than the gasoline engine in the standard Transit at an attractively low starting price. Even better than the initial savings is the massive savings on fuel. Apart from that difference, the E-Transit is largely the same as the conventional Transit that is already such a hit with delivery drivers and tradespeople everywhere. There isn’t a passenger version but there are still three available body lengths, three available roof heights, and a cutaway configuration for upfitting. Despite the lower starting price, some of the options in the Transit are standard on the E-Trasit including the 12-inch SYNC® 4 touchscreen that comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay capability. The battery is good for an estimated 159 miles of range, plenty for most delivery routes.
