What is the Pro Access Tailgate?

There is a reason why Ford trucks are so popular. Other trucks can’t reach the level of usability that you get from Ford trucks. That’s because Ford is constantly working on new ways to improve this already popular product line. From the first aluminum bodies on pickups to the first hybrid drivetrains, innovation is what keeps Ford trucks on top. The latest development is the Pro Access Tailgate, which makes the bed more accessible than ever.

What Is The Pro Access Tailgate?

The Pro Access Tailgate was introduced on select trims of the 2024 F-150. The idea is to give you better and easier access to cargo in the bed by giving you two different ways to open the tailgate. It opens the traditional way, folding down flat and flush with the bottom of the bed, but it’s also hinged on the side, so it can be opened more like a passenger door. Without the tailgate in the way, it’s easier to reach cargo that’s further back in the bed. Just one way that Ford trucks make work easier.

Which Ford Trucks Have A Pro Access Tailgate?

Currently, the Pro Access Tailgate is available exclusively on the F-150. This makes sense, given its popularity, but it isn’t available for every trim level. The Pro Access Tailgate is available as optional equipment on Lariat and Tremor trims, while it comes as standard equipment on both the King Ranch and Platinum trims.
