About The Ford F-150 Raptor

Most of the time, vehicle manufacturers make you choose between performance and offroad ability. But the F-150 Raptor is a performance machine made for dirt, a Baja-style racer that happens to be street legal. The F-150 Raptor is available in two forms, the V6-powered “standard” Raptor and the V8-powered Raptor R. The primary difference between the two is their engines, and both are enormously powerful. But a lot more separates the Raptor from the standard F-150, including a Fox Racing Shox™ suspension system, an electronic-locking rear differential, and a full set of skid plates. The suspension, in particular, sets it apart from the offroad equipment offered on non-Raptor F-150 trims. The long travel and amazing responsiveness are built specifically to handle offroad racing, rather than a more laid-back outing day on the trails. The Raptor is all about serious performance.

What The Critics Say

“The Ford F-150 Raptor pumps out so much fun and such oversize thrills, you'd assume that it had been outlawed years ago. Think of it as a full-size F-150 that's been fed nothing but creatine, dumbbells, and gallons of Bang Energy drink during development.”
- Car & Driver

“The Ford Raptor is an amazing off-roader that's also packed with modern features. It's a trophy truck for the streets.”
- Edmunds

What’s New For 2024

The F-150 Raptor gets an exterior redesign for 2024, with new bumpers, tow hooks, and headlights. There is also a new paint color, called Shelter Green. There is also a new version of the Fox Dual Live Valve shocks, an evolution of the version found on last year’s model. And last but certainly not least, the 5.2-liter engine in the Raptor R has been given even more power, up from 700 horsepower to 720.

Ford F-150 Raptor

Race-Ready Performance

Performance is what the Raptor is all about, the whole reason why you would opt for this instead of a standard F-150. Two engines are offered. The first is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost® V6 that produces 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. It also comes with an upgraded cooling system, so that you can wring that kind of power out of the engine all day long. For even more power, move up to the Raptor R, and its 5.2-liter supercharged V8. This engine produces 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, and turns the Raptor into an absolute beast. While it’s hard to deny the importance of all that power in making the Raptor what it is, the suspension setup is also extremely impressive. The Fox Racing Shox™ setup gives you incredible stability and cutting-edge technology to deliver the best in high-performance offroad handling.

Ford F-150 Raptor Interior

Luxury Interior

While instantly recognizable as an F-150 interior, the interior of the Raptor comes with quite a bit more standard equipment, as well as a number of Raptor-specific touches. The 12-inch SYNC® 4 touchscreen that’s optional on the standard F-150 is standard on the Raptor, as is the incredible 18-speaker B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen®. 10-way power-adjustable front seats are standard, and there are available Recaro® racing seats with a mix of leather than Alcantara upholstery with blue accents. Heated and ventilated seats come standard, and so does dual-zone climate control. There is a Raptor-specific steering wheel, as well as special Raptor floor mats. The available carbon fiber accents are also specific to the Raptor, as is the Blue Interior Package. But maybe one of the most luxurious features is the smooth ride you get in the Raptor. Though the suspension is made for crashing over rocks and desert sand, that also gives it the ability to soak up bumps and potholes easily, and even the most neglected roads feel smooth in the Raptor.

Cutting Edge Technology

Everything about the Raptor is enhanced through the latest in technology. Even down to the fluid in the shock absorbers, which is newly developed to create as little friction as possible during operation. The engine software is tuned to deliver faster off-the-line starts, while also giving you a maximum of stability, control, traction, and even comfort at any speed. And when you’re not offroad racing, you can enjoy touches like standard ambient lighting, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The Raptor might not have been built with towing as the top priority, but its 8,200-pound capacity is aided by a surprising amount of standard trailering technology, including Trailer Sway Control, Pro Trailer Backup Assist™, and the available Tow Technology Package. There is plenty of safety tech to be found as well, such as the standard BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Coverage, and AdvanceTrac™ With Roll Stability Control™.
